Her hair is a little tousled, her makeup is smudged, and she’s humming under her breath. “Where were you?” I ask, even though the answer feels painfully obvious. She grins. “Went home with him.” I snort. “I’m not even surprised… So what’s his name?” She drops onto the edge of the bed dramatically. “His name is Lucien. Thirty-two. Owns a wine distribution company. Speaks three languages, makes a mean omelet, and snores just enough to be annoying but not enough to ruin the experience.”

When the old man said nothing in reply to his last question, Lucien gruffly said, “No! No! I was born to rule over clans and kingdoms and you know that.” As if in agreement to his words, the whole castle reverberated as lightening from nowhere stroke, the thunderous sound shaking the walls of the building and Lucien puffed his chest proudly. “Mmmmmmm…” The old man sighed, out of words obviously and this was a sign that he was tired of the conversation. Another dark smile creeping up his lips, Lucien mumbled as he began to stride out of his room, “I guess we are done here. I’ve laid out inarguably true facts.”

I tilted my head, not believing him. He chuckled then signed back. You said you're fine and thanked me, didn't you? My eyes went wide with surprise. Lucien chuckled again, pleased by my surprise. I told you I was learning. My hands moved fast and animated, mirroring my excitement. But you're so busy. Lucien leaned forward, forearms resting on the table. “Doesn’t matter. I can always create time.” His expression turned oddly boyish. “Go on. Try me.” I squinted my eyes at him, but I slowly signed something simple. What is your name?

Elizabeth’s mouth dropped open at the sight, he was magnificent “Hi, my name is Lucien and I am so sorry.” “It’s alright, you apologized and that is what matters" “It is really nice to meet you Miss…” “Elizabeth” “Miss Elizabeth, I am Lucien like I said earlier. They quickly converged and got straight into business. "So, what's the plan?" Lucien said, his deep voice resonating throughout the whole room. Amongst the triplets, he was the most withdrawn and didn't talk too much, you only knew the things he said through his actions. He was a very fierce warrior and had a very big advantage over his opponents because of the way he was made. Lucien was made like a bull. He was very huge and everyone turned to look at him twice anywhere he went. He took care of most jobs that required an enemy to be subdued and conquered.

Lucien muttered as he dialled the only number he got on the contacts and once he heard the ringing sound, his spirit lifted. “Answer the phone!” He mumbled and his face brightened when he heard the voice of the person he was calling. “Li Guang? Is this you? This is you whom I am speaking with right? Hey mother fucker speak up!” Lucien smiled a little, “Hey! It’s been a while! And I go by my original name now.” He uttered and the person on the other side of the phone cursed him so many times and Lucien could only listen to the person’s curses and once it ended, Lucien spoke. “I know I deserve your curses but hey didn’t you miss your one and only secretary, Boss Li Wei?”

“Let me warn you, friend...if you try to touch what’s mine again, I’ll break your hand.” Well, I doubt he was lying about the breaking hand part...he could actually rip him apart in a second. At that point, I wouldn't mind... Damian’s face turned red. “You can’t talk to me like...” “I can. And I just did. I remember a woman’s scream and blood on stone and someone whispering my name. I staggered back, pressing a hand against my temple as a sharp pain split through my skull. “Don’t,” I whispered. Tell us who you are.” The man finally pushed away from the tree. “My name is Lucien.” His eyes hardened. “And if you want your people alive, you’ll listen carefully to what I have to say.” My heart pounded. “What do you know?”
