Painful memories of blood and helplessness bash my mind. "I am decent with children," I say quietly, and he practically beams. "Excellent, well let me explain what the job would be before we talk about pay. We have all decided that a live in nanny is desperately needed. We would take care of room and board. Your hours would be from 9 am- 4 pm. We would also expect you to help the cook with dinner at five. Sunday's, you would be off," Mr. Gray says, and I almost laugh out loud at how amazing that sounds.

She thanked him and he nodded. "Hmm Sylvia thanks for today, I really appreciate" he thanked. "It's nothing" she smiled. "I wanted to ask if..you could be my kids nanny" "Errr..." she was thinking. "Please I will pay any amount " he pleaded and Sylvia thought of it, she has no job and he said he will be paying a good amount and she really likes the kids so she thought of agreeing. "Okay, I was jobless anyway" she smiled. "Thanks, just say any amount and I will pay" he said.

He instructed her to fasten her seat belt, and she did just that. He increased the warmer in the car, and soon, the clattering of her teeth stop. “I can't get you back your interview,” Lee stated, "but my wife runs a firm that fixes people in a different position. Right now, someone needs a nanny for their kids and I can get you that if it's something you can do.” Ruby stared at him with an open mouth and she wondered how she had suddenly developed a stroke of luck. Of course, she could be someone rich people’s nanny as long as she was getting paid.

“Be a big boy and take care of the house, okay?” The toddler, not understanding, just began to wail. He cried as she carried him away, but his cries subsided as she promised to give him a cookie. I gave my sister a disappointed look. “I know her, Chris. She is a very good friend of mine and I am sure she’s the best candidate for the twins. Please, you must trust me this time or go and keep searching nannies for your kids. I am sure you’ll find one until their graduation day.” Celeste scoffed at me. “Ari, Austin, do you want me to meet the woman you want as your nanny?” I asked my kids, their approval is my first priority. “Yes, Dad! I like the nice lady we met in the café. I want her as my nanny.” Ariel demanded and I looked up at my sister in defeat who was smirking at me.

I never expected the job to be a live-in nanny position. “Yes, Sarah. A live-in nanny,” Jessica said, her eyes wide with a frantic sort of excitement. She grabbed my shoulders, anchoring me. “Listen to me. The Callahans are one of the wealthiest families in California. They literally own the biggest luxury shoe empire in the state. They need someone to live in and care for their seven-year-old son. Sarah... the pay is five thousand dollars a month. That’s it. That’s the miracle. It can cover your dad’s medical treatments, with room to breathe.” Five thousand dollars.
