We came up with it.
Not carried but pulled, the way something vast and patient exerts a claim on things that belong to it. We rose, Nico and I and Caska between us, the basin’s contents now distributed through the light itself, through the violet-blue column filling the Hollow floor to ceiling, making every wolf throw their arms up against the brightness.
Then it settled.
For one long breath, the Hollow was exactly as it had been; same stone, same chairs, same walls, same faces, except for one thing.
