He’s going to die in battle.” Her words punch through my chest like a blade. “I don’t know if that means this war drags on or another one rises after it,” she continues gently. “But his death is written. It will happen.” My breath catches. “Why? Why does he have to die? Can’t I do something? Can Nate? He has enough power to change fate—he could stop it—” Selene shakes her head. “There is no changing fate. Only preparing for its coming.” I stagger to my feet, pacing in frantic circles before I collapse to my knees and scream, “FUCK!”

"Don't worry honey, I'll be the new Alpha of Luna and rule your pack, do you have any last wish?" He stared blankly at her with vibrating lips. "Oh, wish granted". She pressed her lips into his and pulled out the dagger. She dropped the blood dripping knife on the ground and watched life live him slowly. "So pathetic, the almighty Hayato dies at the hand of Miranda, An Ex beta". She said and watched his eyes close up. "Ex Beta, that's right". She said and shut her eyes and opening them, they were red like that of an Alpha.

I can’t turn that down.” Death accepted the challenge and then they moved away from each other. They simultaneously jumped in opposite directions, creating a powerful shockwave that was enough to push me backwards.

She believed in her strength, just not enough to take Death on in single combat. The two allies she had were considerably strong in their own rights. Odoroku was a shadowy man with long arms and claws. He was wearing black wrappings all over his body that almost matched his skin. He looked similar to Death, except his face was more pronounced through his dark smoke, with two white eyes peering through. He also had horns sticking out of his head.

Years.” His jaw tightened hard. “And when I finally found you…” his voice cracked slightly, “you died in my arms before I could even protect you.”

I answered without a shred of hesitation. "It will take effect in one week." She handed me the potion. One week later... Wasn't that the exact day of the Mating Ceremony? I took the potion and drank the bitter liquid down in one gulp.
