I walked to the windows and parted both curtains sideways, giving up space for sunlight and fresh air. The words seemed to leap off the page, filling the room with an eerie sense of foreboding. Everything written in the book didn't make any sense to either Stella or Morgan. They found everything in the book quite absurd. The book spoke of witches, dragons, angels, vampires, and the devil. They didn't believe in such a thing at all, weren't they just fantasy? If they were to interpret it, it only meant that Grandma Elizabeth was a witch while the stranger guy whom Stella had picked from the streets the previous night was the devil.

I highly suggest reading book one before reading the sequel, but if you don't want to you can manage the second without doing so. The one big thing in the first book was Goddess Selene's curse. Claude found a few books on witchcraft that she had never seen before, and Nuella showed her a few books on magic that she had acquired over the years. As they were about to leave the room, Claude noticed a small book sitting on a shelf all by itself. It was old and worn, with a black cover that had been embossed with a strange symbol. "What's this?" Claude asked, picking up the book. Nuella's eyes widened as she saw the symbol. "That's the Necronomicon," she said, her voice low. "You shouldn't touch that." Claude looked at the book and felt a shiver run down her spine. She had heard of the Necronomicon before, and she knew that it was said to contain dark and dangerous magic.

“Sure. Whatever.” She didn’t open the book in one go but stared at the title for a long minute, preparing herself or maybe re-thinking her decision to do this. This is pure black magic, talking to dead means you are dropping the veil between the living and dead and inviting the spirits to talk to you. “Necromancy is the darkest and the most dangerous of the sacred magics. Well, its death magic. Life. Death. The afterlife. These are not things to be trifled with.”
