For how many minutes am I late and why does it seems like I missed too much in the discussion? I look around once more but what caught my attention is the Professor who is still sitting on his chair, reading a thick book. I watch how his pupils move as he flip the page then move the rim of his glasses up with an obvious crease on his forehead as if he is very indulge to his book. “Nerd.” I whispered before writing my name on top of the paper.

“You know it’s not drugs but you didn’t speak out. You just let them embarrassed me and now you’re following me around? Geez, leave me alone!” He didn’t let her utter a word. He fastened his steps towards his classroom. He has a lot of things going on his mind and that nerd is making him more frustrated. “Mr. Calazar, you are early for tomorrow.” Mr. Pasyaw said to his professor is in his mid 40’s. He is one of the most strict professors on campus. Laughs echoed in the room. “And it looks like someone will lose his job today, Sir.” He smirked.

He then drinks from his bottle before he turns back to his large-framed subordinate. ”Come back as soon as you can, Nick. I’ll make this a short session.” ”I don’t know about that, boss. She’s kinda like your type. Meaty, big-breasted, long hair…” ”She could be wearing a wig, Nick. And no, after that last horrific session, my professor can walk in here and I wouldn’t even give a rat’s ass.” ”Your professor? Ohhhhh, thaaat hot professor…” Awkward silence…

Goosebumps were crawling all over my skin. I didn't really want to associate with the students at the school so I had no business with whoever was staring at me. I didn't turn to look instead, I focused my gaze on the door as a professor, whom I believed was a Chemistry professor, made his way in. He was a short, rotund man with a saggy belly and premature baldness on his head. He wore round-rimmed glasses that resembled those of Harry Potter. A black briefcase was firmly held in his hand.

I couldn't tell if I was looking at Drake or Chris Brown. This was my boyfriend who was a professor. Usually, people saw Professors as nerds who were consumed with education and proving scientific theories. But him, he was no stereotype. He was a celebrity professor to say the least. "Hi beautiful, you're here and ready," he said, jogging down the stairs. His eyes raked me from head to toe, and a slow smile parted his lips, "You look ravishing," he said, taking me into his arms and placing a kiss on my forehead.

If only she knew how difficult this class was, down to the motherfucking professor. “The thing is, no one knows who the professor is. He has two assistants who teach us, gives us tests and exams. So, if we have any complaints whatsoever, it goes to the assistants and not whoever the professor is and it is a fucking pain in my ass.” I held my head with both hands and landed on my bed, then screamed into my pillow. I hate the life I had. Why didn’t I have the life influencers I see online? I should be making short videos of useless things on the hundredth vacation that I didn’t need to take. But here I was, in a small room, worried about my grades.

She is not our professor in English, so why is she here? “I know it is so sudden but Professor Briguel, your English Professor, had an accident yesterday. He broke his left leg and still on medication in a hospital, so he can’t meet you today nor the following weeks. That is why, the admin hired me to be his substitute until he comes back. By the way, I am Neryl Guevarra, your substitute English Professor.” she introduced herself. She flashed her sweetest and most appealing smile to us. I swear, she almost looked like an angel, if and only if, I hadn’t met her two days ago. That was last Monday of this week.

Her presentation only glossed over their traits, and this was a topic we hadn't discussed in class before, so I knew she expected me not to know it. So she'd call me dumb in front of the whole class and make me a laughingstock. I glanced briefly at Prof. Stephan, who was looking at me, and my skin prickled with awareness. “We’re all waiting for you,” she sassed, “don't tell me you weren't paying attention.”

My lips parted, but before I could form an answer, the professor’s voice cut through the air like a blade. “What do you want, Miss?” he groaned, his irritation unmasked. “Oooh, I’m sorry, sir,” Nina cooed, feigning innocence, though her smirk never faded. “It’s just that I saw my sister come in a while ago, and she’s taking too long to come out. I just wanted to know if she’s okay.” The professor lifted his gaze at last. His eyes darkened, cold and heavy as they fixed on Nina. The look made the air in the room heavier, and I saw her shift ever so slightly, as if that gaze pressed against her skin.

They were engaged in some boyish chatter that was disrupting the peacefulness of the hall. That idiot. He's the reason I'm in this mess. “Look, there's your prince charming,” April giggled, nudging me. I ignored her. We sat down and I brought out my books, ready for a class. The professor came in. I tried listening, at least to half the things he was saying. Finally, the class ended. “Nathan Hunt.” The professor called. “See me after class.” His minions cheered. What the heck was exciting about that? These morons.
