Ariel’s POV The rain lashed against Professor Grayson’s window. I hadn’t planned on being here, in his private space. The rain pounding the roof filled the awkward silence as I stood by his kitchen counter, my paint stained fingers fidgeting like the hem of my equally stained t-shirt. “I’m sorry about this,” I said for what felt like the hundredth time. “I should have checked the weather forecast before agreeing to stay late.” He moved in his kitchen as gracefully as he did in front of his students. He was the youngest professor in the art history department at twenty eight, but he carried himself with the gravity of a much older man.

“Nick, Nick, Nick!” He is snapped out of his deep thoughts and away from his long gaze, when his group of mortal friends, humans called out for his presence. “Daydreaming again? Are you even listening to our professor?” “I bet he didn’t even remember a thing that was talked about.” Two of his male friends’ giggle, teasing him a bit, which doesn’t suit the youngest one and the only female mortal and human among his circle of friends. “Stop it will you!” she pouted. “We all know that Nick doesn’t need to sit in any lectures of the professors. He is smart enough to understand everything without anyone’s help. Remember, he almost got into the prestigious section of the Elites.”

Seriously, what is happening to me? He turned around and walked to the whiteboard. He started writing on it after picking up the marker. I moved my head down. I don't want to look at him. He is making me crazy. "Oh, my god, Inaya. Our English professor is so hot." Anu whispered in my ear. "You can date him. I'm giving you the green signal." I glared at him instantly. She is saying nonsense. "What? Don't you find him hot?" She asked, raising her brows in shock. I think she has lost her mind. He is indeed hot but that doesn't mean I'll date my professor.

"No, no, you knew nothing!" Ace moved out of his way, still shouting at the top of his lungs. "You think you could hide it forever but I know you! I mean, it makes so much sense. The most popular jock in school who is totally homophobic going out with the not yet out of the closet pretty nerd boy! It's mind-blowing!" "No, I'm not a nerd! And this isn't a W*****d high school book!" Marcos snapped with a hand on his waist, even though there was a smile on his face. "I'm just taking him to the hospital for sometime."

"Xavier! As soon as I called out to him, he knew what I meant and came right over to help the professor. At the same time, I noticed that a great deal of blood was pouring between my fingers, and I hastily put another hand over the wound. It looks like a serious injury, and at this rate, the professor's going to die. My eyes almost instantly turned red. Although the professor has done a lot of wrong, but his nature is not bad, his goal is actually only one, that is to pursue scientific breakthrough. He is a scourge of drugs, he is also a teacher I admire, is the world's most appreciate my talent.

"What do you know? Do you also have these crazy dreams like me?!" "What sort of dreams are we talking about here?" "Stop beating around the bush. Just tell me what you know! I'm going nuts! I hope I never end up there. The noise soon died down, and all eyes were fixed on him. “I’m Narek Carne, and I’ll be your Mystic Morphology professor in level 101.” He turned around to write on the Electric board with his pen and my eyes rested on his arm muscle as they flexed with every stroke of his pen. After scribbling some points, he turns around and our eyes locked again. The jolt of electricity that surges through me snuffed air out of my nostrils. Who was this man and why did he have such an effect on me?

“I don’t even understand it myself. It’s not like with Dante. It’s quieter. Calmer. But it’s there, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel it.” He stared at me for a long moment, then let out a slow breath. “You have a thing for professors, huh?” I blinked at him, surprised when I saw the faintest hint of a smile tug at his lips. “That’s not funny,” I muttered, but a small laugh escaped me anyway. “I’m not trying to make it funny,” he said. “I’m just… processing. Believe me, this is a lot.” “I know,” I said, my voice small. “I wouldn’t blame you if you hated me right now.”

he nodded "Then how about Edward?" I asked "No, he doesn't. I've in Paris since so many years and recently came back home, I came back the day before we met at the bar." he told me. "Hmm. Exactly. That's what I'm thinking , how came a young boy like you can become a professor?", I teased him. "Yaah! if I want then I can be your permanent Professor, you know na how smart I am.", he again started praising himself but this time I have to admit he's really smart.

Nick tilts his head slightly, like he’s considering the insult instead of reacting to it. “I like to take my time with things,” he replies casually, stretching his legs out under the desk. “Sometimes it’s good to make decisions,” Mr. Madden says steadily. “You can always change your mind. So tell me.” His voice is calm, but the tension underneath it is sharp enough to cut. Nick stares at him. Mr. Madden tilts his head slightly in return. It looks like a warning. And suddenly the resemblance is impossible to ignore. In that moment he doesn’t look like a professor anymore—he looks like exactly what he is.
