I haven’t seen you before.” The familiarity of the stranger’s voice and look drew Jax’s attention, as if they had previously conversed, but it seems odd because he would recognize someone if they had met. His memory isn’t great, but it’s not terrible.

Alex's expression darkened. "What does that mean?" Victor tilted his head. "Did you really think your meeting in the mountain market was coincidence?" Beauty's heart skipped. She looked at Alex. "What is he talking about?" Alex frowned. "I've never seen this man before." Victor laughed softly. "No." "But someone else arranged it." Silence. Beauty felt a knot form in her stomach. "Explain." Instead... Victor reached into his coat. Marcus immediately lunged. The stranger moved with impossible speed.

Kyle’s urgent voice followed: “She’s thirty seconds from launch authorization—you have to shut her down!” The First Strike Without warning, Natalia lunged, her combat blade flashing with deadly precision. Damien surged forward, blocking her vicious strike, forcing her back with brutal strength. Their blades clashed, sparks flying, driven by years of hatred. I fired sharply, forcing back two advancing guards, dropping them with deadly precision. Natalia twisted free, striking again, her blade cutting sharp, forcing Damien onto the defensive. "You can’t stop destiny," she hissed. "The world burns... and I rise."

He stumbled a step backward, and I tried not to let my pride and ego at getting the first hit to distract me. I threw my left hand at his face during his stumble, but he grabbed my fist and twisted it. I yelped in pain and used my other foot to land another blow to his side. His grip faltered, and I was able to get out of it. Before I could blink, the air was knocked out of my lungs from a hit to my gut.

Creed strike was again gaining momentum now. Each strike he made suddenly turned several times more threatening. She felt it too. Suddenly, the strikes were not light anymore. After blocking each strike, she felt as if she was being pushed back. The exponential shift in power balance fired chills in her. The tables turned so fast it drenched her forehead with beads of sweat. She felt as if he was lying all this time.

She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Nobody had ever spoken to her this way. Especially not Kelsey. "Whether I stay here or not, you aren't in any position to address me."Kelsey paused. "So don't ever talk to me in a disrespectful manner because I will not let it go." The hallway became silent. Grace's chest rose and fell violently. Her face was red with anger. Then she pointed at Kelsey."You think you've won?" Kelsey shrugged."I wasn't aware we were competing."

“Could you by chance know the reason for this annual meeting?” Red shook her head. “I don’t really know much. Whenever they’re there for the meeting, they make all the strippers and bottle girls wear these customized headphones they bring along themselves. As a stripper, you strip to whatever song you can hear through the headphones. As a bottle girl, you have loud music playing. Whenever they want a bottle, your music stops, you get the orders, and then your music automatically comes back on. I don’t know why they do it, but there’s no way you can hear or see anything even if you’re right in front of them stripping. They’re so organized and don’t make too much noise.”

But who will ever put someone like Clarissa over someone like me? “I’m sorry,” I say softly, letting a lone tear fall. “Sorry will not fix this, child.” He pauses, taking a deep, stressed breath. “If the council finds this out, it will be a strike against you.” “A-a strike?” “Marks against your character. If you get three… you fail.” The world tilts around me. I dizzily flop to my bed, trying and failing to understand what he’s saying. “No one told me about a strike system,” I breathe.

Then, I poured the entire cup of coffee over his head. The liquid ran down his face, making him look ridiculous. My voice was flat as I continued, “I’m so disappointed in you. Now you can experience what it’s like to be a stray dog.” “Francesca…” He tried to cling on again, but I drew my gun and pressed it against his head. “If you take one more step closer, don’t blame me for being ruthless!” With his face forced against the ground, he didn’t dare resist. The parents gasped collectively.
