The nickname hit me like a fist. Nomes. The name from when we were fifteen. The name he'd called me while sitting on my bedroom floor with his backpack and his homework, the name whispered through my door on the days I couldn't get out of bed, the name attached to the version of us that existed before desire and ego and ownership complicated everything. You probably know him as Damon, the Lycan King. But when you grow up next to him, like me, it’s hard to forget what you’re used to. Although, he does hates when I call him that in public.” Caleb explained. “Pretend like you didn’t hear it from me.”

He pinched his cheek softly and Caleb nodded. “So, Caleb, what do you like to do for fun? Do you have any favorite games or hobbies?” Caleb’s face lit up as he answered. “I like drawing and playing with my toy cars. And I’ve just started learning how to ride a bike.” Hank listened with genuine interest, his heart swelling with affection. “That’s fantastic! I used to love drawing when I was your age. And riding a bike is a lot of fun, isn’t it?” Caleb nodded eagerly. “Yes! It’s really fun, but I still need some help from Dad sometimes.”

“Mislav? Do you want him to be teased mercilessly?” I swat him. “Mislav was my great-grandfather’s name, and he wore it proudly.” “I bet it was easier to be proud of a hundred years ago.” He shakes his head. “I am not calling my son Mislav. Caleb smiled sweetly as he greeted them. He wasn't in the healthiest state, so he looked way thinner and paler than Wish. Wish enjoyed outdoor activities a lot, so he was very tanned. Standing in front of Celeste, the two of them had the same small faces and huge eyes. They looked strangely alike with each other. "You kind of look like Wish." Staring at Caleb, Winston said. "When were you born? Are you older than me?" Wish clearly liked Caleb a lot. He took over the handle of Caleb's wheelchair and asked him some questions. After chatting for a bit, everyone realized that they were around the same age. Wish was half a year older than Caleb.
