With the spotlight now on him, he threw his arms up, grinning widely as his teammates engulfed him. “He’s more than that,” I mumbled, not caring that I sounded ridiculous. “You’re just being obsessed.” She groaned, chewing noisily on her popcorn. She always chewed noisily whenever she was brewing something stupid in her head. Just like I had thought, she shifted her gaze back to me and with a hand resting under her chin, she murmured, “I told you about Caleb, remember? He asked me about you again. And unlike August freaking Reynolds, Caleb is actually normal. He studies Computer Engineering like us, and doesn’t think the sun rises and sets with his own ego.”

It was obvious from the way they looked at me, wondering what laid beneath my modest outfits. Caleb Harlan, the camp's most popular badboy. He moved about with that smirk he wore on his face, one that said he heard every sermon on temptation but was till hell bent on being a tempter. Caleb was the guy smuggling in candy bars that tasted like forbidden heaven, telling ghost stories that caused the little ones to shiver in fear and flirting like it was his job.

I mirrored his stance, trying to anticipate his next move. He lunged forward, his speed surprising for his size. I managed to sidestep his initial attack, but his follow-up was quick and caught me off guard. His fist grazed my side, sending a jolt of pain through me. He ignored my pain and lunged towards me yet again but this time around I rolled on to the side quickly. There was a reason why Caleb was known in the pack as a gamma and I could definitely noast about it that it was because of his techniques and his amazing fighting skills.

Caleb stuttered pulling on his hair, his eyes scanning the darkness outside. "Get out and go after him!" Kad panicked, his voice firm and urgent. Caleb hesitated, fear gripping his heart. "B-but, kaeden, it's raining, and it's dark...and...and...my… dammit I'm putting on a white latest edition Gucci Italian…" Kad's glare silenced Caleb. "Now, Caleb! We can't lose him!" Inhaling deeply, Caleb opened the door and leaped into the stormy night in his beast form,his heart racing with every step.

Caleb was dead. Now, it's time to find Nyx.

I snort and look over to Alex, who is glaring at Leo, who does nothing but flip him off, eyes never leaving the TV. "Are you gonna leave us out of the introductions?" My eyes flick to the second man now. He looks shorter, with a bald shaven head and dark skin. He was extremely muscular, a little too much for my liking. His eyes were completely focused on the screen, and he was biting his lip in concentration. It just looked like they were shooting people to me. Who knew it required so much focus? "Yeah, yeah. That's Caleb. He doesn't just look like a dick, he actually is one."

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all. Gravel crunched under our tires as we pulled up. Aunt Linda rushed out to greet us with her warm hugs and kind smiles, but my eyes were already looking for him. Trouble. There he was. Caleb stood near the edge of the stream, tall and broad shouldered now, his dark messy hair falling all over his face. He was bent over something on the ground, poking at it with a stick. A toad. The poor thing was trying to escape, but he kept blocking it, I could see the cruel little smirk on his face.

Caleb was seated at his study table with a bottle of wine before him. His expression was unreadable so I could not guess the reason he might have called me. Caleb poured wine into another cup and offered me, "Sit and drink." I just stared at him, refusing to take the drink. "Cut the bullshit Caleb. Why am I here?" I asked him. The room became quiet for a while before Caleb finally spoke up. "You will be a hard Target to take down Miguel, I admire that. There's a reason I made you Zeta of the pack, you know?" He chuckled.
