The tables had turned. "I'll take only Gideon's billions!" Lyzza screamed as Mariz pulled the trigger. Ian fell into the dark and cold sea, consumed by the strong waves and darkness. "Now it's just me, b*tch! Take her away!" Mariz ordered, frantically rubbing her gun against her cheek. Her arms were held tightly by two men on either side of her, carelessly carrying her away. "Let me go!" she shouted, kicking the two who held her. They ignored her, not caring if her knees scraped on the concrete floor of the port as they continued to drag her.

Josiah was a little hurt, but he still accepted it quietly. He understood what Nia meant. He could not be too impatient or his actions would only backfire. After the family of three finished the seafood and came out of the restaurant, it was already completely dark outside. The surface of the sea was pitch black. Other than the lights that were radiating from the passing boats, there was only a faint moonlight. Such a view of the sea was still very beautiful.

Alya pointed out. “I want something else,” Jason smirked. Alya was confused but he was being very cryptic. He was driving far north for almost an hour until he finally stopped in front of what looked like a seaport. They got out of the car only to be hit by the cool night breeze. Alya’s long hair was swaying gently and she gaped at the calm sea. The night sky was clear of clouds with millions of twinkling stars. Several large ships were anchored at the port, hauntingly gloomy. There were only a few guards in the port at that hour. Jason motioned her to follow him.

The night was dark and the icy breeze from the sea piercing through the skin. It was a stellar, crisp night with only the melody of breaking waves and cicada chiming into the night. The night was still young but the coastal village had retired to sleep, crippled from the day that was. All that was left from the revelry were drunkards crawling in the street. Hana meandered into the dark cold night with her backpack in tow. “There’s no turning back, she said.” A thousand things going through her head.

Chapter One: Asking the Sea to Erase It All. The sea shimmered in the wind, with distant twinkling lights on the horizon.
