LIORA!” Mavric shook her frantically, but her skin was already cold and pale. There was no breath. No pulse. Across the main monitor, bold red text flashed repeatedly: SUBJECT ZERO TERMINATED. SYSTEM PERMANENT LOCKOUT INITIATED. Lucas Thorne stood rigid, paralysed with shock. His face, usually twisted into an expression of supreme arrogance, now showed pure, unadulterated horror. He pressed frantically at the controls on his handheld device, but the screen displayed nothing but the message: ACCESS DENIED.

“Please don’t try to confront any threats on your own.” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a watch—the same one Alex has. The latest security invention by Zang Technology. He hands it to me, and I take it. “I’ll be monitoring your vitals,” he says, tapping his own wrist. “Yours has a tracker, so I’ll be aware of any threat as soon as it happens.” I nod and strap it onto my wrist. He nods in return and starts to drive off when— “Joseph.” He pauses mid-motion.

The guy was just twenty one and he didn’t even look the age. He made my watch ,more like a multi-tasking device that does anything but tell time. He chuckled. “I’ll be waiting boss.” I ended the call. True to his word, the fish eye had laser pointers that would immediately cause inflammation of the eyes of anyone who came near the door which would naturally lead to their death.
