The Night Calling I remember the first time I heard whispers about the night calling. It was a phrase that moved through the boys in The Boss’s shop like smoke—everyone knew it existed, everyone respected it, but no one dared explain what it meant. I was still new then, still washing soap suds off Mercedes wheels with hands that trembled from the memory of blood. Sandra Danso’s face hadn’t left me, not for a second, and the weight of her death clung to me like a shadow I could never shake.
