If you doubt my skill," She held up the Lion's Fang, "I won this blade from a spider demon." She pulled the glowing jewel out of her pouch, "I earned this from a battle with one of your clockwork servants." Last, she produced a claw from the fierce avian "I took this from Kongamato after I helped slay him." Lord Nian looked over at Zinjo, "She is an accomplished warrior. You must be proud to fight alongside such a woman."

But she couldn’t explain it away, not when she looked at his mouth from which two teeth were protruding now. No, not teeth. Fangs! Pointy, sharp fangs like those of an animal. Like a Sabertooth tiger. She couldn’t think it, no, because to think it made it real. It couldn’t be real. It didn’t exist. He didn’t exist, not like that.

Madayah attacked again, catching Nikka with a solid paw swipe on the side of her head. Everyone looked on in horror. Madayah had pulled her claws, and the thump upside Nikka's skull would only carry a bruise. Nikka crouched on her belly and launched from there, taking Madayah to the padded floor. Two sets of fangs displayed and furious growls sounded from their throats. "Enough." Nicolas's voice boomed throughout the gym.
