Ninth House Book Novels & Stories

After two days of high temperatures and intense boredom, he remembered the three books. Sam pulled out the one with the Mummy on the cover, because it looked the most innocuous. It was entitled the Ninth Pan Book of Horror Stories. He wasn’t the least bit prepared for what he found inside. The first three stories involved emasculation, murder and burning at the stake. In his fevered state Sam felt he was not only watching the characters’ suffering, he was experiencing it along with them. He flung the book at the wall and then hid it again, wishing he could burn it like Jinnot, the young girl in the third story who was burned alive.

That shook me more than the collapsing house. Seraphina lifted one hand toward the stairwell. Kael moved beside her. They looked like old war. Beautiful. Terrible. Not enough. The shadow below the stairs pressed closer. The house shrieked. The walls bowed inward. The journal skidded across the floor and opened near my feet. Words burned across the page. As she searched the catalog, she was thrilled to see her library had, on hand, editions of most of them Caitlin grabbed a cart and had dove into the stacks, looking up each book by its call number, and slowly adding them to her stack. Some of the books were harder to find than others, and she’d had to use a ladder and go to the top, dusty shelf, deeper in the stacks than she’d ever been. One book she found stuck between two books, and literally had to pry it out. Another book she couldn’t find anywhere—until she realized that it was on display in the front window, for the Occult Exhibit; she guiltily unlocked the glass, slid it back, reached in, and removed it, making a mental note to replac

Childishly, she stomps on it with her heeled boot to appease her rage before letting out a small scream of frustration. I watch her make a dramatic exit before stepping out from between the shelves a couple of seconds later, eyes cautiously searching just in case. Shaking my head in amusement I trace my way back to the storefront and settle on one of the sofa’s to read. I feel the need to arm myself with a lot of knowledge now that I know what I could become, the first book I’d picked is called History of Elementals. On the first page is the beautiful design of the black interlaced knots in the middle of the page. Seeing the knot, I’m reminded of my black triquetra tattoo and shift uncomfort

But when Aren opened the book with the inscription sequel, he noticed something Strange. The first page wasn't empty. There was a single sentence. In a handwriting that wasn't Emils. There's another third house. And among them: No child is waiting this time.

I muttered as I ran toward my chambers, driven by a strange pull, a gut feeling that something was there waiting for me. We walk past her walking towards the books that were in the back of the store. I turn back to look at her, I get scared as her face looked burned and her face was melting off her skull. I look away and shake my head trying to clear my head. "Hey look, there's a book about astral projection with tips on how to do it." She grabs the book off the shelf and walks over to the crystals and starts to look at various ones. She grabs the ones that look nicest to her, not reading any description on them. I tried to help but she shrugged me off and said "I like these instead."

Third-Person POV The hallway fell into a brief, dead silence. Antonio stood frozen in place, his fingers gripping his car keys so tightly that his knuckles turned stark white. An abortion? He had seen Natalina visiting the hospital for her prenatal checkup two days ago, so how could she have aborted the baby? And even if she did, why hadn't she told him? And… Giannino mentioned that Natalina had returned to the Corradini Famiglia, hadn't she? Why? Was she planning something new? But if she was, why hadn't she talked to him about it?

June 14, 1974. And beneath it... The Ninth Cipher Begins. Adrian frowned. "What is the Ninth Cipher?" The apartment lights suddenly went out. Complete darkness. Rain soaked the wooden floor. His dining table had been overturned. The envelope was gone. For a split second, panic replaced every rational thought. Then he saw it.

As she’s about to leave the room, someone called. “Hey, I’m leaving the hotel. My car service is waiting,” she talked to the person on the other line. “I can’t wait to see you here. We’ve so much to see and talk about,” Noah said. Cela gave her room one final look. This is the place where she leaves her old self. “We wanted to go to a specific place and it didn’t matter if the road was rough and the journey was long. In the end, we found different places for ourselves but these places were the destinations where we were truly meant to go,” she said to herself. The fourth book begins at chapter 1 in Paris. The End.
