I drove over, the GPS guiding me through unfamiliar neighborhoods, parking in a designated spot behind the building.
At the entrance, security checked IDs under the glow of spotlights. I handed over my invitation, a crisp card with Damien’s gallery logo embossed in gold.
“Have a nice experience, ma’am,” the security man said, nodding as he scanned it.
“Thank you,” I replied, smiling sweetly, the warmth easing my nerves a bit.
