"Yeah, because there are nice people on earth." "Yeah... But not too nice." ^^^^ I sigh in relief when I find my bedroom all neat and made up. Grammy has surely been taking care of it since I left. My novels are neatly arranged on my bedside table. I walk over to my window and draw the pink curtains. I put my suitcase just beside the window and tossed myself on the bed. I lay on the bed, my feet crossed just staring at the white ceiling. It is at this moment that I realize just how peaceful this place is. How peaceful home is. I had missed home.

Promises We Made at Seventeen

Promises We Made at Seventeen

Like a natural function of something alive. One evening, we talk about our pasts—not in a confessional way, but with clarity. The ways we learned to protect ourselves. The ways love once demanded vigilance instead of rest. “I used to think being at ease meant I wasn’t trying hard enough,” I admit. He nods. “I thought stability meant stagnation.” We laugh softly at ourselves. Because neither of those things are true anymore. Ease doesn’t mean disengagement. Stability doesn’t mean boredom. In fact, it takes more courage to stay open in something calm than it does to survive something chaotic.

Contract With The Age Gap Billionaire

Contract With The Age Gap Billionaire

They had battled to break free from the bonds that had held them for so long, as well as to defeat their adversaries. With the windows open to the busy city below, Anita sat next to Nathan in their private office. As if the turmoil of the previous few weeks had been a faint recollection, the world outside appeared serene and tranquil now that night had fallen. With a gentle tone, Anita remarked, "I never imagined it would feel like this." Nathan gazed at her, a tenderness that had not previously been present in his eyes. "What are you saying?" "It's the end of it all," she remarked, letting out a little giggle. The struggle, the confusion, the terror. It is finished. It's not what I expected

The Alpha's World Claimed Me

The Alpha's World Claimed Me

He never traveled that way again. I feared for Novel. If a seasoned Alpha could nearly lose his mind there, what would it do to her? She was human….she shouldn't have to carry the weight of our supernatural nightmares. I rubbed my face with my hands, exhaling a long, shaky breath before returning to our tent. Novel was already asleep. Her dark hair was a silken web across the pillow, and her lips were slightly parted. She looked peaceful, like a goddess carved from moonlight. As I watched, she shifted, nearly sliding toward the edge of the bed. I moved instinctively, catching her and gently easing her back toward the center. I sat on the edge of the cot for a moment, brushing a stray lock of

Shattered Vows

Shattered Vows

Elena It was a strange feeling—not having to anticipate pain. For years, I’d lived on the edge of a blade, every conversation a negotiation, every silence a potential explosion. Now, in the stillness of my own home, there were no raised voices. No shattered glass. No perfume I didn’t wear on a collar I didn’t touch. Just quiet. Just Noah’s footsteps down the hall. The clink of his spoon against his cereal bowl in the morning. My own breath, finally mine.

My Cold Husband

My Cold Husband

Lily sat in her room, the earlier moment with Aaron playing over and over in her mind. She touched her cheek absently, where his hands had rested, and felt the warmth of his hand still lingering there. The world outside the penthouse was calm now. The sun streamed through the glass windows, bathing the living room in golden warmth. The once-tense atmosphere that had hung over their lives for weeks had finally lifted, replaced by a quiet, almost surreal peace. Lily sat on the couch, a novel resting in her lap as her hazel eyes traced over the words. For the first time in what felt like forever, she wasn’t reading as a distraction. The pages drew her in because her mind wasn’t weighed down by

Her Return : The Billionaire's Contract Wife

Her Return : The Billionaire's Contract Wife

I focused on the cold air on my face and the unexpected warmth of the sun on my chest. The tightness in my muscles, which had been there since this morning after the kitchen failure, slowly started to loosen. It felt like someone had quietly unplugged a constant, low-level electric current that ran through my body. Five minutes passed. Then ten. I opened my eyes. Nova was still reading, completely undisturbed. The sun was lower now, casting long shadows across the lake. "See?" she said softly, finally looking up from her book, her expression strangely gentle. "The world didn't end. Your bank account didn't spontaneously drain itself. You just had ten minutes of not being CEO Killian Ashford.

The Alpha Assassin

The Alpha Assassin

Nova’s lips pressed together, her golden eyes glassy. “I feel almost guilty, no, not guilt.” She pursed her lips. “Sad, mournful, I think.” “About?” “The fact we never settled elsewhere. I mean, we tried, but it felt wrong, something about being in one place for too long; it physically started to make my skin crawl, as if something was begging me, us, to move.” She looked to the ceiling and our lands above. “Here…this is the first time I have felt true peace. I mourn those that have never felt that that lived only to tell the stories, to hope that we would make it back.”

Great story! Very well written with a strong main character and storyline. Well developed characters that you can sympathize with and dislike their actions at the same time. Would be awesome if there was a prequel story and just waiting on the sequel. Mar 27/24

Such a refreshing read!!! STRONG female lead. This was so different and so insanely satisfying. It has everything, drama, love, friendship, rebuilding. You’ll laugh and cry and go on an emotional roller coaster but it’s worth it. I’m going to re read it now

Alpha Boss, Baby Daddy

Alpha Boss, Baby Daddy

Cora It was one of those quiet early afternoons, the kind where the mansion didn’t have any noise beyond what was carried through the open windows, and the sun filtered through with the wind, setting everything aglow in gold. I was curled up on the couch with a blanket and a book that I wasn’t truly reading, half-listening to the sound of Riley playing in the other room. For once, I felt… still. I couldn’t help but savor this rare moment to breathe. With everything that had happened in the last few months, I almost couldn’t fathom this sense of ease. It had been so long since I had felt such peace, and I couldn’t help but credit Kingston for it.
