Tracing my fingers over the thin scars that littered his shoulders and upper torso. Opening my eyes, I gave into the desire to look at my mate. His lips were curled into a smile. Blonde hair falling messily over his forehead and into his sparkling violet eyes. The sun played on his skin, painting it in pale bright swatches. It made his scars almost disappear. I had never seen his body without those scars and it made me long for what could have been if he had never met Nash. I closed my eyes, trying not to think about the monster. He was no more.
