Zara's Escape back home

hello, all yess it's finally here the sequel to "the king and the rejected she-wolf" you can read this as a stand-alone but I think it will make more sense after reading the other one first.

to those who read the first one a while ago, I change Kai's name to Aiden. why? hmm I guess the name Aiden just sounded better to me :D

ZARA

“Zara, come out and play; we will protect you!” Zack says he and the other boys have just returned from training with daddy and uncle Mack. Grandma Rosa and I played piano today.

“Okay. Will Aiden be there?” I ask, and he nods. And with that, my brother Xander and uncle Mack’s adopted son pokes their head in.

“Come on, Zara, we will go outside and play Hide and Seek,” Aiden tells me.

I get up and run after the boys. I don’t see daddy at first before he grabs me and lifts me, laughing.

“DADDY.” I squealed. And Struggled to get down. But daddy laughed.

“Where’s my little princess going?”

“Play with the boys’ daddy.” Daddy look at the boys.

“Remember, look after Zara, and stay by the house.” He tells them.

“We will protect her dad.” Zack promise, and the other two nod in agreement.

“Good, have fun. Tonight we will all go to get ice cream.” He says and puts me down.

“Yaaay." We all yell on our way out.

“Liam, you spoil them.” I hear mom tell him.

“Liam, I know, my love. But I can’t help it.”

We play for hours. When we get tired, we sit on the grass. Aiden has stolen a pink rose from grandma’s garden and put it in my braided hair. I like Aiden. He is older than us, but he doesn’t think it is annoying when I bug him. He just laughs and hugs me.

We are on our way to get ice crème, and I am sitting on daddy’s shoulders while he holds mommy’s hand. Zach and Xander. He runs around playing warriors. Daddy laughs at them.

“Be careful, boys,” Mommy says.

“Let them, baby, as long they don’t hurt each other,” Daddy says to mommy, and she sighs.

When we get to the ice crème store, daddy gets me a BIG ice creme and plays with us on the way home.

“My tummy hurt a little from the big ice crème, but shhh… don’t tell mommy, I don’t want mommy to be angry at you,” I whisper to daddy when he tugs me into bed. And daddy chuckles.

“Mommy won’t be angry, and she loves daddy.” He whispers back. And I know she does. Mommy and daddy love each other sooooooo much.

Daddy tells me the story about the king that found a girl in the forest and saved her. And I fall asleep thinking maybe it’s the daddy that saved mommy.

It’s our birthday. Zack and I turn six years old. And daddy has said yes to having a BIG party outside. It had a jumping castle, water slides, and a carousel with horses. Daddy thinks it should have been wolves. But he couldn’t find that. And I didn’t want daddy to be sad. So I told him I love to sit on Shadow, his wolf, better anyway. That made daddy laugh.

We are outside, jumping in the castle, when Miranda pushes me, so I fall out. I hurt my knee and sniffled a little, and moved to sit by a tree. I know the other kids don’t like me much. I don’t know why because I was never mean to them. Aiden sees me and comes over to me.

“What’s wrong, Zara? It’s your birthday. You should be happy.” He tells me sweetly, sitting down next to me.

“Miranda pushed me off, and my knee hurt,” I tell him. He looks at my knee, then blows at it and kisses it.

“There you go. All better.” He says, and it was. Aiden is always so friendly to me. But he is older than me.

Then some strange man grabs me. And pushes Aiden away, so he falls, making me scream. Suddenly all the other kids run away, but my brothers and Aiden all run and kick and hit the man that is just laughing.

“Let me go!” I scream, but he holds me so tight it hurts. He kicks Xander, and I scream again. I see daddy, uncle Mack and mommy come to save us. A weird little woman comes up next to the man when it gets all foggy.

She says some strange words and sees my brothers and Aiden fly away. I cry out, not wanting anyone to hurt them. The man laughs, and then we get sucked into the air, and I get dizzy and fall asleep.

I sit up, gasping for air, looking around. It was a dream I have had almost every night for the past year. Not sure if it is a memory or just a dream.
