Dane and Ezra walked the academy paths often, arms brushing, voices low with plans.
"Another full moon soon," Dane said during one stroll. "Watch the ceremony from our porch?"
"Best view in the territory," Ezra answered. "Peace looks good on us."
They succeeded in every way. The final thread closed tight. Fighting days faded into memory. Now love and guidance defined them.
One quiet evening, allies gathered at the cabin. Plates passed. Voices rose and fell in familiar rhythm.
"To the end of one chapter," Lena toasted.
"And the best part still going," Tom added.
