The woman’s excitement made it harder to breathe. “Oh, sorry,” the woman said quickly. “I’m Chloe Daniels, Bianca’s manager.” Noelle nodded. Chloe took the box like it was treasure. “You must be Adrian’s assistant. Thank you—Bianca’s going to love this.” Noelle just smiled weakly and walked away. “Thanks but I’m perfectly happy crafting campaigns. I’ll get back to you if I ever grow taller though.” The designer shrugged, already distracted by other pretty faces. My friends laughed as he left. “There are two tall girls here and he decided to go for the shortest,” Noelle said, then paused, glancing down at Tessa. “No, my bad. The second shortest.” Noelle was the tallest of all of us. She was thin, had high cheekbones, and legs that went on for days. She was easily model material, but never had an interest in it.

It was a girl not so older than I was, she had beautiful blonde hair and the most charming blue eyes. She smiled at me and proceeded to put a cupcake on her plate, I didn’t even know who the hell she was and she looked very creepy. “hi, you must be Camila, I’m Danielle but everyone calls me Danie” she introduced pushing her hand out for me to shake. All four of these women are impossibly gorgeous, and I’m feeling a little self-conscious as I stand across from them with tangly, windblown hair, dressed in borrowed clothes that don’t fit quite right. “Sorry for barging in like this, we’re just so excited you’re here!” the little curly-haired one chirps enthusiastically. She must be able to read the confusion on my face because she quickly goes on to elaborate. “You met our mates this morning. I’m Astrid, and this is Quinn, Brooke, and Fallon,” she says, pointing to each of the other girls as she names them off. “Nice to meet you all,” I breathe, smoothing my hair with a hand and stepping closer. “Are you part of Reid’s pack, or…”
