Nora Roberts Identity Novels & Stories

“Really, I’m fine.” From the moment she cut ties with the Yates family and divorced Travis, she’d stopped caring about them. Hearing that only made Jodi’s chest ache more. It meant that when Nora had been connected to them, she must have been hurt badly. Nora, unable to take the weight of Jodi’s gaze, turned as if to get herself a drink—then noticed the hem of a dress peeking out from around a corner. One glance and she recognized it. In her past life, that dress had been worn by the award-winning actress Jennifer Tanner.

Nora said. Jules wanted to feel disgusted, but her confusion and the goosebumps crawling round her body were stronger. Finally, she took a step forward, and then another, towards the place Nolan led her to. When she took her seat, Nora cleared her throat and rose to her feet. Her aura was hard to ignore, and Jules noticed that despite the resemblance between them, Nora was prouder. “Let me introduce myself, Mrs…Fraser.” She paused, her eyes scanning Jules. “My name is Nora Lynn, and I used to be a bar worker. Never had the comfortable kind of life you've—"

Instead, she reached into her small, expensive leather purse and slowly, she pulled out a tiny silver flash drive. It was no bigger than my thumbnail, but it caught the buzzing lights of the jail and sparkled like a diamond. She slid it across the scratched table toward my handcuffed hands. "Richard’s mother thinks I’m her puppet," Nora whispered, her eyes turning darker, like a hunter's. "She thinks I’m just a sweet, empty-headed girl who will do whatever she says just to marry Richard and get my hands on the family money. She thinks she has me under her thumb but has no idea who I really am." She said to my greatest amusement.

"Never! I will not put on this costume," I shouted, struggling against the guards’ tight grip as they held me firmly. "Put it on now, or face the consequences," the Rogue King’s mistress barked, tossing the outfit at my face with a sneer. She is Nora, a notorious slut. She is known for targeting young she-wolves like me, and makes them ready for the Rogue King’s auction house.

She hated the way he dismissed what they shared but that wasn’t the main problem right now. “I am sorry for your loss Luca, but I really don’t know who this bitch you are talking about is. I don’t know who that is Luca, I really don’t know anyone, I don’t know why you think I would come here and face what I did just so I could get a hold of your family photos and send to another person, the only person I know is Roseline and she is a stylist who has never done any crime her whole life not even drunk driving, I don’t know this woman,” Nora explained. She didn’t know how to make him believe what she was saying.

Nathan replied with a smile, his eyes filled with resolve and cold mocking encouragement. ********* FLASHBACK******* Charlotte Roberts, heiress of Rob-Glow Designs, had always been the creative force behind the top bag and jewelry designs in New York. Despite her prominent family background, she preferred to keep a low profile, avoiding the limelight and the trappings of her family's wealth. This was a result of her high school days when she endured bullying due to her family's status, an experience that left a lasting impact. Determined to forge her own path, she made a conscious effort to conceal her true identity during her college years, presenting herself simply as Charlotte Roberts wit

The lady turned to face me. “You're awake, ma'am,” she said in a tiny voice. I didn't say anything as I stared at her with a blank expression on my face. Judging from her looks, she was my age mate, or rather, younger than me, so hearing her call me ma'am irked me. “Good morning, ma'am," she continued, bowing her head slightly. "I'm Nora Roberts, your personal maid." Her name rang a distant bell, but I didn't care enough to dwell on it. There were far more pressing matters at hand.

Who had given Nora a clean phone that was not clean. Who had sent her to Henderson's office for two hours while Grace executed a motion that never existed. She was real. She had just never been a forensic pathologist. "She helped Diana leave," Nora said. "Yes," the nurse said. Nora lowered the phone. She looked at Ethan. "The woman from the library," she said. "The fake Dr. Marsh. She was not Gerald's operative." Ethan looked at her. "She was Diana's," Nora said.

"You must be Diane's daughter." "Yes. Nora." "Lovely to meet you. She looks just like her mother." She studied me for a second too long, the way older women sometimes did when they were quietly deciding something about you. Rosalind smiled, "Nora is a smart young lady. She works for one of the leading construction companies here." I gave a nervous laugh. The other woman's eyes widened. "Actually, if you're ever free, I'd love to introduce you to my nephew. Charming boy, very driven."

A death certificate for a woman named Margaret Clare Bishop, filed nine years ago, two months after Robert made the decision to hide her. She understood now why he'd cried at the funeral. She'd thought it was guilt. It wasn't. "How long has she been using a different name," Nora said. "We believe the alias was established shortly after the death certificate. We haven't confirmed the current name." Nora thought about the woman in the church. The face she'd known her whole life. The woman who'd warned her about Samuel, said she'd been watching since the gala, said she couldn't come sooner. She hadn't given her name in the church. Nora hadn't asked. She'd been too focused on the envelope and ge
