Nora Roberts Identity Novels & Stories

“What?!“ exclaimed Mr Miller even though he had expected it. “What is her real name, then?“ “This might turn-out to be very shocking. I had to use seventeen hackers and computer geniuses and spend 500 thousand dollars before I could get reliable information.“ “And you want me to compliment you for it?!“ Mr Miller angrily asked. “Who is she, Darkie?!“ “She's Gomez Waxson's favourite and only surviving daughter; and her name is Nora Waxson.“ “Damn!!“ yelled Mr Miller. He angrily hit the elevator behind him, his fists tightening in anger. “Why do I feel like you're not very surprised, Don?“ “Isn't that easy to see, idiot? I suspected her from the day she stepped out of Alvin's car! And her gree

That was when fate, finally, knocked on the door a second time. The sound of creaking hinges made every head turn again. The silence that followed was absolute—the kind of silence that precedes a natural disaster. Nora walked into the hall. She wore no silk, no lace, and no jewelry. She wore a simple dark suit, and her face bore the expression of someone who had crossed through hell and returned only to claim what was rightfully hers. Her eyes didn’t seek the cameras, nor my family, nor the judge. They fixed with a hunter’s precision, on Warren.

I pleaded, desperately peeling his hand off mine and swiftly walking away. As I hurriedly made my way towards the office I had been directed to, I couldn't shake off the nagging thought that if that guy was indeed a worker there, how could he afford such an extravagantly expensive car? Pushing the question aside, I made my way to the receptionist. "Hi I'm Nora Roberts, I was told to resume today" I said to the beautiful blonde lady who looked nice. She returned my smile and searched through some files as she spoke "Oh you're the new Personal Assistant to Mr Nathaniel Lockhart"

Nora muttered with her fingers pressed against her lips. She watched as Alicia’s lawyer stepped up to defend her. “Your honor, the prosecution has failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that my client is guilty of any crime.” He paused and skipped through the document in his hand. “The only crime she committed was trying to kidnap the late Gina Clark. The real culprit is Nora Clark, who shot and killed her own sister in cold blood. She also took money from my client to be her surrogate after my client saved her ass from going to jail. I urge you to find her not guilty on all counts and set her free. Thank you.”

But I only have eyes for Knox, for the man I thought I'd never see again. He reaches me first, dropping to his knees in the blood-soaked leaves. His hands hover over my body, clearly wanting to touch me but afraid of causing more damage. "Aubrey, oh god. What happened? Who did this to you?" His voice breaks on the words. I try to sit up straighter, using the tree for support. Every movement is agony, but this information is too important to wait. "Knox... listen to me." The words come out slurred through my split lip. "Nora is dead. The woman with the Crescent Pack... she's not who you think she is."
