Not Another Vampire Book Novels & Stories

I moved to the large shelves leaning against the wall, pulled out a massive book on vampire history, and slammed it onto the table, causing her to jump. “We need to figure out what you are,” I said, my voice softer now as I turned to her. Her eyes widened in disbelief and fear all at once. “But I am not a vampire. I am only human!” “Yes, but we need to be certain of that… though after what you did to Sylver… I’m not so sure anymore…” I didn’t have to spell it out. We both knew what I was talking about. She nodded as I began flipping through the book, searching the sections on Strigoi vampires. They were not what I was looking for.

I sank into the chair, my hands hovering over the keyboard, but my mind was elsewhere, somewhere far away, replaying Daphne’s scary face, her fangs inches from my neck about to rip it off, her voice dripping with jealousy and pure hatred. “You’re his,” she’d said, so sure I was stealing Alex’s attention, his affection, or whatever she thought he owed her. The idea was laughable, Alex barely tolerated me but it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I didn’t want any part in her supernatural drama, her coven rivalries, or her twisted obsession with my stepbrother. I didn’t want any of this...the vampires, the blood, the constant fear of being someone’s next meal. I glanced at the posters on my wall

“That's weird, I bet Ethan is hiding something.” It was already night, I was engrossed in the book I found. It wasn't giving me any solution but it had these vampire stories in them. Their do’s and don't, heroes and heroine, the war between them and hunters and their little alliance with the witches. It had a similarity because the man who bit me was a vampire.

It had everything from the bloodline that formed them, to the very thing that could destroy them all. And that, she realised, was the reason this section of the library was hidden. “Guys,” she said as she skimmed through the dragon book, “I think what we’re looking for is something like this, but for vampires.” That had to be it, right? She had to be connected to vampires somehow. That Vechi vampire said it himself. “Alright, keep looking,” Isaac said. They were obviously moving faster than her. They had already gone through ten books, but Syanna felt like it was right under her nose.

She spat, walking out on her sisters, she just can't fathom why they hate the vampires too much, and kid won't let go off their hatred, well she's going to do what needed to be done. I sat on my bed and leaned on the headboard before taking a deep breath. I wasn’t being delusional. I saw it, I saw that his eyes turned red for a second. I just shook my head and tried to get it out of my head. I got the book that I borrowed from the library. I remembered that this book was from Zion, the one he said I’ll like. The main character was a female vampire who had just gotten off of her transition. I’ve read some pages and I stopped when I realized something. Some of the information was familiar to me. I went back to the other pages to read it again.

Even without the meteor shower, that night would have been fun. I felt a lot of things that I hadn't felt in a very long time. Things that I didn't even realize that I missed. And some things that I probably would be better off if I ignored. But, for now, I was sitting on my side of Nico's bed, looking through one of the books he had on vampire history as he sat on his side, looking through a book of his own. Of course, I had read about vampire history when I was in school, but none of them were from a vampiric author. Which really made a difference.

It was my copy of Twilight, which was one of my favorite books back when I believed that supernatural entities were nothing more than a fictional narrative to be entertained.
