I turned to Dead Ted. He nodded. “Yes, sir.”
I nodded and walked out of the basement, shrugging off my suit jacket.
“Well, you look like shit.”
Romeo stepped out from a corner, his shirt wrinkled and half-buttoned. It didn’t take a genius to know what he’d been up to.
He matched my stride. I resisted the urge to knock his teeth down his throat.
“Fuck off, Romeo.”
He laughed. “You know…” he said, walking backward, “you should just apologize to her. You’re miserable without her.”
