He was silent for a long moment, then he said. "There are old stories, about some twins, they are called soul twins.”

I stared at him. "What are you talking about?"
"Nothing." He shook his head. "Probably nothing, just... be careful, Luca. Some things are better left buried." He turned and walked away before I could ask more.
I didn't go back to the cabin that night, I couldn't face Rafe, the worry in his eyes, the questions I couldn't answer. So I stayed under the oak tree, watching the moon crawl across the sky, waiting for dawn.
