David hurried into my room with a letter in hand. “Miss Claire, this is Scott’s suicide note… Do you want to read it?” Everyone in the room fell silent and looked at me. Hoills frowned but did not do anything to stop David. He only looked at me silently and gave me a look that said that he would support me no matter what decision I made. I shook my head and felt nothing. “No need.” David nodded and left. Hoills then turned off the TV. I could see that he felt pity, but he was also proud of me.

This story always engulfs me and whisks me away to wonderland. Ragged footsteps and the sound of sloshing liquid pulls me out of the borrowed world. How nice. I was finally going home. "Don't worry, everyone! Elena is on her way! She might have a sharp tongue, but she'll save Daniel in the end."

They were burning through the wood. ​Through the pixelating wood, Elara saw the lead editor. It was holding a silver pocket watch up to the keyhole. The ticking sound in her head grew loud. It was counting down the seconds of her freedom. ​She moved back into her desk, her hand shaking as she opened a leather journal with her thumb. The pages were empty. They were waiting for a story she did not know how to write. As the door frame started to dissolve into space she realized that escaping was not the end. It was simply the moment the real writers decided to chase her down.

Julian panted, his eyes scanning the alley for an escape route. "Keep moving," Emma replied, her voice low and determined. "We need to find a way out of here." As they ran, Emma noticed a fire escape ladder on the side of one of the buildings. Without hesitation, she grabbed the ladder and started climbing. Julian followed close behind, his eyes fixed on the agents below. As they climbed the fire escape, Emma spotted an open window on the third floor. She motioned to Julian, and they quickly climbed up to the window. Emma slipped inside, followed by Julian. They found themselves in a dimly lit office, the only sound the hum of computers.
