Hailey’s POV I snuggled under the thick, warm duvet, feeling the faint thrill of solitude as I flipped through the novel I’d borrowed a few days ago from Alpha Grant’s study. His collection was impressive, filled with volumes I could lose myself in for hours. As I flipped through the pages, immersed in the novel with the thought of Argon’s drama at the back of my mind, my peace was short lived.

Maggie replied. Maggie gently laid the open book on the table before Tara. The large print almost jumped off the pages. The Gothic style lettering was clean and crisp. Tara slid her hand lightly over the pages and felt a warm vibration in her palms. Maggie gave a full bellied laugh when Tara jerked away with a startled look.

[JANE] “What’s your novel about?” I inquired as I took a sip from my coffee. Luna looked at me for a second before she squinted her eyes and hummed as if she’s trying to recall what her novel is about. Her tongue clicked before she spoke. “My novel is about two people who met in an unexpected situation. One made a bet and the other agreed, one life is at stake. I don’t want to spoil that much because I want you to read it yourself”, she smiled but I was too distracted to smile back. I was once again terrified at the thought that this is somewhat connected to me and Khali. Who is this person in front of me, sipping her coffee, wearing a cheerful and attractive smile on her face?

Far away, the City of Forgotten Authors awakened beneath a sky filled with newborn constellations. The gray-robed Authors opened their journals. Their blank pages were no longer empty. Every unfinished sentence had returned. Yet... one page inside every journal remained untouched. Waiting. Adrian sat quietly before the ancient desk. The First Author was gone. Only the glowing pen rested in his hand. The room had become strangely peaceful. The First Reader approached him with slow steps. "You've completed what no one else could."
