Hailey’s POV I snuggled under the thick, warm duvet, feeling the faint thrill of solitude as I flipped through the novel I’d borrowed a few days ago from Alpha Grant’s study. His collection was impressive, filled with volumes I could lose myself in for hours. As I flipped through the pages, immersed in the novel with the thought of Argon’s drama at the back of my mind, my peace was short lived.

Her tongue clicked before she spoke. “My novel is about two people who met in an unexpected situation. One made a bet and the other agreed, one life is at stake. I don’t want to spoil that much because I want you to read it yourself”, she smiled but I was too distracted to smile back.
