Christine was certain fierce tenacious grips of Scott's hands upon meeting. A step behind, the body of Ariana presses the knob of a door, initiating the unlocking of the door. The door swings open. A sliding touch from behind frightens her to near death. Her chest throbbed so hard on her chest. Behind her, a mono-eyed woman made a stance like a statue. Her face was full of hope and resuscitation of life. Sometimes in life, the next step is the solution to a problem when on a loose end.

She huffs at us, rolling her eyes before pinning us with a firm stare. "Women write these books. You want to learn how to sweep a woman off her feet? There's your manual." She says, motioning towards the book in my lap. I look at the novel with a newfound respect before looking around the room. "Seriously?" I ask and the women all nod. "Oh yeah. I'd love for my husband to read some of these books. Maybe we could spice things up a little." A woman says and many others nod their heads in agreement. "Oh hell yes. Maybe get him to growl and call you a good girl." Another says with a giggle. My eyebrows shoot up in surprise and the younger girl looks at us with amusement.

I just had not expected Emma to be the first one to act. It was a gloomy afternoon. Halfort saw its first snow of the year. I was sitting in the sunroom on the second floor and reading a book when Martha brought me hot tea. Just then, the doorbell rang. The security monitor showed Emma standing outside. She wore only thin clothes and was shivering in the wind and snow. Tear tracks crisscrossed her face. She looked desperate. Security asked for instructions, and I considered for a moment. "Let her in. Keep her in the downstairs living room. Stay nearby and watch."

The morning light filtered weakly through the curtains, casting fractured patterns on the floor — much like my thoughts, splintered and jagged. I sat at the small kitchen table, clutching my cup of cold coffee, staring at the leather-bound book *Reflections of the Forgotten* open before me. The stories inside weren’t just tales — they were warnings, lessons written in sorrow and hope. Women who had lived as shadows, trapped in lives borrowed from others, fighting to reclaim their own reflections.

It's about testimony. Instead, I'm reading at the foundation. Thirty women. That's who's here. Thirty women who have survived something. Who have made it to the other side of something that tried to break them. Who understand that a book like this isn't entertainment. It's witness. It's proof that the thing that happened to you doesn't have to be the final word on who you are.

I hope that you enjoyed this story. This was one of the first full novels that I wrote. If you have you will also enjoy Across the Desk and the triology that it sparked. it is a dark romance story in which a young woman, Deanna, finds her true love and they forge a bond that not even her insane family can break. The second in the story is Weathering the Storm where their story continues. Then breaking the Eye Wall which they finally find the end of their nightmare together. WEathering the storm is already on goodnovel and Breaking the eye wall will be released in November of 2020.

“For training.” I smiled despite myself. “Tell her thank you.” The maid hesitated. “Actually…” “What?” “She said not to thank her.” I frowned. “Why?” “You’ll understand later.” Strange… very strange. That evening, I wandered into the library again, this time not to read but because I wanted silence. I returned yesterday’s books. The librarian smiled nervously. “I found something else you may enjoy.” He placed a slim volume before me. It wasn’t about kings or bloodlines or prophecies. Its title read; Forgotten Women of the First Kingdom.

FELICIA I wanted to get to Beta Andrew. But when I got to the banquet again, all the Betas and alphas were gathered in the corner. A bunch of rogues were standing above them. The alphas and their betas were kneeling on the ground and their hands were tied behind their backs. The rogues held silver daggers against the necks of all the women, including the Luna queen. I was the only woman left who wasn't contained in the corner by the rogues.

The aggrieved woman got to have some time to vent; she hit the sh*t out of the woman. “I will kill you with my bare hands,” the woman yelled as they dragged her out. Finally, after the dust had settled, I told her the real story. The two women were sisters, and the one inside had seduced her husband. As I thought about it, the story seemed familiar. Nora. Maria
