Layla’s POV My heart hammered against my ribs as I stared at the woman who had just declared Barbara must die. Something cold and terrible crawled up my spine—a dread I couldn’t name or understand. “Luna,” Beta Jack breathed, his voice cracking like a teenager’s. “Luna Charlotte…” Annie’s grip on my arm loosened as she stared at the stranger in the doorway.
