Stacey's POV: The city felt like it had been waiting for me all along. New York…its noise, its restlessness, its unstoppable current swallowed me whole, but instead of drowning me, it taught me how to breathe again. The skyline was no longer just a backdrop; it was the frame of my new life.

She heard Irene scream in excitement, "what the hell are you guys doing?" "Oh, oh," Tasha and Irene turned to face her, "This is so good, Elle!" Irene ran to her and hugged her, "This is awesome!" "what are you talking about?" She frowned. "The book, who said you can't write romance? This book is so good! I can't even explain it in words," Irene squealed. "You liked it?" Elle smiled at her. "I loved it!" "I didn't know you could write a romance novel," Tasha blinked in surprise. "Dude, it's like you've poured your heart out," Tasha couldn't believe her eyes.

I looked out of the window, as the car drove slowly in the busy street of New York City. Even due, it has been a few weeks after the New year celebrations but it still seems we are still celebrating the new year. It was already getting dark and it was snowing. Still clad in my work cloth but this time my black jacket covered my blouse. This city is always busy, unlike London. Which was Cool I couldn't help but remember what Mrs Gamma said in the office. I was never supposed to attract attention. I wanted to give my best in the company but my intention was never to bring unmistakable attention to myself.

EPISODE 1 The sun stretched its fresh glow from its horizon to the brink of the city. Yellow dust of the morning highlighted the towering buildings and unending highways. The rise of the sun didn’t mean much when the day had already began for many. People marched passed each other heading into shops, vehicles and buildings. The noise and crowd built up as each second of the morning passed. In a city said to never sleep, New York was awake for another day of record breaking traffic, hustling of the rich and poor and the lingering smell of coffee, garbage and pumping fumes.

I'm not still used to being a New Yorker who finds it enjoyable to walk through a crowded street. "A New York City street is not like a street anywhere else in America. It is more frenetic, more teeming, more daunting, more commercial, more electric, more lawless, more infested, more sticky, more musical, more neon,'' said Emily Badger in one of her articles and I kind of agree with it. Clearly, because I am walking at a faster pace in this busy street because I'm in a hurry and then there are just so many strange insistent men who'll press my hand for fliers.

He can't be seen from the street. He is covered by a very tall hedge. He is reading... Yes, the closer I get, the clearer it is that he is reading something out loud. A novel. I stop to listen and his warm, lulling voice transports me to another dimension. I know this book...I have a feeling I've heard these words before... It's Lolita! A gasp comes out of my mouth.

New York City. The name itself felt like a promise. The jarring, sound of suitcase wheels rolling over the polished airport tile announced their arrival. Daisy stepped out of JFK’s terminal alongside Vincenzo, the brisk air of New York brushing against her skin. The city was alive… horns blared in the distance, the screech of subway trains hummed beneath them, and people weaved through the crowds with purpose, as if each of them were perpetually late for something incredibly important. It was, after all, truly the city that never slept.
