“Alpha. The border is under attack. Something old. Something that smells like the curse.”
I looked down at Elara, still knotted under me, her eyes glassy with pleasure and exhaustion.
“Double the patrols,” I ordered. “I will join them after dark. No one enters this room while I’m gone. No one touches my mate.”
When Lucian left, I knotted Elara one more time, slow and deep, eyes locked on hers.
