Second Chance At Love
"For how long have you two been married?"
"Forty-five wonderful years," the woman replied.
"The best forty-five years of my life," the man agreed, kissing her cheek.
"Wow, that's beautiful. After forty-five years, you still look at her with such love. How did you know she was the one?" I asked.
Before I could get my answer, Alex's stomach rumbled loudly, drawing everyone's attention. The elderly woman immediately stood and made her way over to him.
"Maybe you're not used to this simple living, but you can't starve yourself," she chided gently, filling up the empty plate in front of him. When he declined, she insisted, not returning to her seat until he reluctantly took a bite.
