I forced a nod. “I know.”
“She’s never been wrong.”
“She’s also not perfect,” I said, keeping my voice even. “Visions aren’t always clear.”
I could feel his gaze searching mine now, maybe even suspicious. I hated how careful I had to be just to speak the truth sideways.
“I’m just saying,” I added, “maybe some of her prophecies say more about her fears than about the future itself.”
