“Eh . . . it’s all right,” Oliver told him. “You came with Eliza, correct?”
Another nod, this one with a toothy grin. “Yeah. You?”
“Going solo, I’m afraid.”
“From the looks of it,” James said, eyeing the crowd, “there are plenty of beautiful girls without dates.”
“Oh, I know. I’ve danced with a few already.” Oliver paused before continuing slowly. “Sorry mate, about not being able to play out the season.”
