I made sure of that…or I thought I did. It started the day Dante dragged her out of the holding cells and claimed she’d be more useful breathing and active than being left to rot in the cells. I didn’t believe him then. Omegas with no shift had no place. Definitely not here in Crimson. And yet… She survived. Barely at first. She was clumsy in training, very brittle in spirit. A single sharp word could’ve sent her folding into herself. But she didn’t fold. She bent, yes. And on more than one occasion I thought I’d finally watch her break. But each time, she found some ugly, stubborn way to stand again. That was when I started watching closer.

"You need to calm down." "Thorne pulled his alliance," I said without turning around. "That's twenty percent of our military support gone because my ex-wife apparently has powers that shouldn't exist." Selene walked inside and closed the door behind her. She wore a white silk robe, her blonde hair loose around her shoulders. Her hand rested on her stomach the way it always did now. "He's exaggerating," Selene said as she lowered herself onto the couch. "She's an omega. She can't even shift properly."

If not, then maybe somewhere down below, or above. In the meantime, I looked down, and then lifted my gaze. But I couldn't find anyone of them. I couldn't tell exactly if the voice came from behind. Or perhaps, from the side, or in front.

His laughter slowly died down as he looked at us again. “That’s what everyone believes which suits us just fine.” He scratched his chin. “We formed an alliance with an Omega Centre. Legally they can only do so much to help omegas in trouble. That’s where we come in. We protect omegas from danger, and make them disappear if we have to.” His eyes darted to mine. “We don’t hurt omegas.” “How do we know that you’re telling the truth?” “I’ll show you if you decide to accept our help.”

"Come to 425 Oak Street. Alone. No police, no friends. If you tell anyone or try to bring backup, I'll know. And you won't like what happens next." The line went dead. I met Helena's frightened gaze. She squeezed my hand. "We have to call the cops, Jade. This guy sounds dangerous—" I cut her off with a sharp look, glancing meaningfully at the phone. We didn't know if he was still listening. Grabbing a pen, I scrawled a quick note. 'I'm going. Look after yourself.' Before she could protest, I shifted into my wolf form and bolted for the door. As an omega, I was small even in wolf form, but I was fast on four legs. And I could handle any human who tried to hurt me.

4 years ago... The annual Luna Moon Ball was on its last leg and all my hopes of finding my mate tonight were slowly fading, any excitement I had at the beginning of the night was already dead. I stood away from the crowds and watched as everyone else had the time of their lives. If I slipped away no one would notice. As an omega, my presence was trivial anyway. Resolved, I dropped the glass of water I had been holding and make my way to the great room which led out into the night air.

One of the Gammas muttered, seeing a bunch of strange-looking Omegas. Callum narrowed his eyes. He noticed something unusual about the group of Omegas walking towards him. Callum's men are in ready mode. They can feel the negative energy around them. As they focused on the strangeness of Omega walking towards them. Suddenly, the corpse lying on the ground came back to life and stood behind Callum and his followers. "Alpha Callum," called one of his men. Callum turned around, "What the hell?"

The boy saluted playfully as he started working on his computer. "Soon Daelyn, I will get to you." The man smirks looking at a picture that displayed a group of boys and one of them was apparently the omega who was now peacefully sleeping on the bed holding onto Alastair's hand.

“It’s Tyrone’s mating ceremony. Apparently, he’s found himself an omega.” Her expression darkened instantly, her face twisting in disapproval. “An omega?” she spat, her lip curling. “A beta marrying a creature as lowly as an omega?” She shook her head, her voice laced with scorn. “What is Tyrone thinking? He could have chosen a strong, influential woman—someone from a powerful bloodline, someone like Hannah.”

Guston who was among the men turned to look at him and said; " big bro, you should join us. " The man glanced side ways at him. Guston shrank his neck as he was about to tell him it was fine if he didn't want to. But just then the man got up and went close to the table. Those watching were dumbfounded, as Mr Acosta isn't someone who would usually play this kind of games. It seems he's in a good mood today, some thought. Even Guston was astonished to see his big bro participate in this kind of game for the first time in two years.
