“You’re not ‘just’ anything,” Xander said with a low growl. “What you are terrifies them.”
Zade stared up at him, breath shaking. “Does it terrify you?”
Xander’s jaw clenched, and for a moment Zade expected him to deny it.
But Xander didn’t lie.
“It should,” the Alpha whispered. “But it doesn’t.”
Zade’s chest squeezed.
Xander continued, voice tense. “Variant Omegas can’t be controlled by Alpha pheromones. They can’t be compelled or dominated. They aren’t weak links—they’re anomalies. And in the wrong hands, they become weapons.”
