I stop a cab; and I got in; I ask the driver to take me back home; the man nods, and he obediently gave me a smooth ride back to the house… At the front door; I saw mom talking with Mr. Daniel; they seem to be having a lot to talk about; but they stopped to say anything; when mom saw me coming their way with my bag, hung behind my back… Mom left Mr. Daniel; she held my shoulder with both of her hand, and brought me in for a hug; a tight one… I looked at Mr. Daniel; confused; as fuck; I pull away from her; I ask Mom, if everything was alright, at first, I notice how gloomier, her eyes got; but she cheered up; she brought out my hand, and pushed me towards to the direction of the kitchen…

It doesn't bother me to be home alone; then I can just relax and do nothing for once. Despite the rain the air is calm and it feels hot and sticky. I’m the storm you didn’t see coming. I took the long path home, avoiding the town’s main road like it was cursed. My legs carried me on autopilot, weaving through trees and gravel and silence. My body was still warm with adrenaline, my thoughts a hundred miles away—Arlo’s face, the way Asher said come with me, the way they both looked at me when I walked away. I felt a tear roll down my face, “I’m so confused- I’m so lost.” I shook my head, fighting back the tears. My mom cooed at me, “Oh baby, that’s the best part. Finding your way back. Don’t be sad. Charles stops as well. "Come let's go in now," he told me. We soon again begin to walk. "Ha....," I cry out feeling a sharp pain within my hand. Dr. Charles stops right away and check on my arm. I inform him that I no longer felt the pain anymore and soon we were on our way closer to the building. A guard let us in. My body begin to shiver as I enter the building, knowing that I was going to see my mom. My mom's body lying lifeless.

Now, I am just trying to make the best of a shitty situation. As I make my way to the country road, the place where I lost my mom, and eventually my dad, I can feel the pull. I rush out onto the road because I know she is coming; this is where she will be. The car screeching to a halt, tires skipping on the wet pavement stopping just inches from me.

So I quickened my pace down the dark path. I smiled when I saw a light ahead, and that's where my mother's voice came from. As I approached, my steps grew heavier and heavier as I walked towards the light, until I reached it and saw my mother playing with a young boy who had a smile on his face.
