My body was already a frozen shell, the cold seeping into my very bones. Hearing about Hallie's injuries had sent me rushing to her, with the warm pie I knew she loved. Never in my wildest nightmares could I have imagined walking into that scene, my own boyfriend, Camilo White, the beta I loved, painting me as the villain in public. He stood amidst the pack members, his every gesture exaggerated. It was a carefully cooked up lie. "Violet disappeared that night. Who knows how many rogues defiled her? She's impure. Violet maintains her stance for a few moments longer before bursting into laughter and stepping back. “Ah, really Mr. Whitlock? You of all people shouldn't act all innocently caring. Have you forgotten your shameless lies the day we met?” she proudly states, a playful smile tugging at her mouth. Shifting to a normal sitting position, I rub the back of my neck in embarrassment at my behavior. “Stranger or future beloved, I don't see the problem in caring about their well being,” I confidently reply, standing to full height. “How very chivalrous of you, but I don't need your protection,” Violet states before walking out the room.

Violet and I both let out a groan at the same time and looked the other way. “I was away for less than a second!” Violet complained. Trinity smirked, casually pulling back and wiping her lips like she hadn’t just been caught. Dylan gave me a sheepish grin before somehow even finding the nerve to glance at me. “Ah, look,” he furrowed. “The prince who put it all in action finally decided to help!” I let out a breath, focusing on Violet instead. “So what are we doing?” I asked. Violet brushed her fingers over one of the stacked crates. “Unloading and organizing,” she explained. “Everything needs to be moved and sorted into storage before nightfall.”

Seeing that Henry had no intention of leaving, she gave him a sidelong glance and asked, “Why are you still here?” Once again feeling rejected, Henry was speechless. This unromantic woman was driving him crazy! He took a deep breath and returned to his office. As she watched his frustrated departure, Jenny was left bewildered, wondering to herself, "What did I do to upset him this time?" Back at Violet Grove, Shane’s phone beeped just as he finished dinner with Haley. He received a message from Henry. Henry sent, “Shane, I need your help! How did you get your wife to fall for you?”
