**UNKNOWN POV** The room was dark...too dark for normal people. There was just a tiny bulb glimmering. But even in the darkness, I could clearly see the symbol of the moon that had been taunting me. There was only one window in the room, which was guarded heavily by the wooden blocks and then with a layer of newspaper. I couldn't see the moonlight, not until I found her. I was looking at the photograph of the mark in my hand.

' She spun her head to look at her window, the blinds were barely open, it was dark outside but with her light on someone could definitely see inside if they wanted to. She stood up, going over to her window, about to pull her curtain down when she saw eyes looking at her, yellow, bright eyes. She gasped as a nail tapped her window, then her phone went off again. "Open it quietly Davina, don't make a scene." Looking back to her window she walked away from it, over to her bedroom door where her light switch was, she flipped it off, her room becoming dark, the only thing she could see were the eyes watching her every move 'Damn wolves and their night vision' she slowly walked back to her windo

One. I fell backward out of our window before she even reached the window, falling to the ground, luckily I wasn't alone in this. I plugged my earbuds in and started 'The Vengeful One' by Disturbed as I neared the ground, opening a portal to hell at the last second. I met Jack within, and he was in our truck, playing the same song I had in my earbuds. "I'M THE HAND OF GOD, I'M THE DARK MESSIAH," He said, pointing to me as the next lyrics came up, I knew them and flew into the car as I finished the line.

The city pulsed beneath the night sky, lights flickering like nerves firing in a sleepless mind. From the penthouse windows of the Draven estate, Brooklyn looked deceptively peaceful. But inside, everything was braced for impact. Damon stood near the window, shoulders tense, his gaze fixed on nothing and everything at once. The silence behind him was broken only by the faint hum of security monitors and the occasional click of a keyboard.

“It’s for you.” The bond pulsed once in warning. Then the light outside my window flickered and went dark.

Slowly I start to work at one of the windows, but as I pull it open, it starts to make a loud crack. I stand in complete haunting silence as I wait for someone to rush in from outside. Yet. Nothing. I slowly push myself up and slip my legs one by one out the open window. It is completely pitch dark; there is no way of knowing if there is someone out here until I am on top of them. But after a save few steps, I start to feel that I have made it. But then… As I am trying to disappear into the darkness, my foot hooks on something, and I fall flat on my face. I gasp as I swallow my screams and wait for someone to come rip me from the ground. But, still, nothing.

I shift forward, eyes narrowing. Through the window, I can see the faint outline of a crib. Ariana’s shadow moves back and forth, slow, rhythmic, soothing. She’s singing. I can’t hear the words, but I know the melody. I press my hand against the cold windowpane of the car, fingers trembling. Something inside me twists tighter, darker. The glass fogs under my breath. I draw a line through it, just one, like I’m cutting the night in half. “Enjoy it while it lasts,” I murmur.
