“Water or whiskey?”
“Whiskey,” Juan said, then walked to the couch but didn’t sit.
Marco poured one drink. Just one. Then he brought it over, handed it to Juan, and took nothing for himself.
“I came because I think you know what’s going on,” Juan said, watching him. “I saw the crest again. It was stamped on crates belonging to my archenemy.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Marco said, walking to the window. He pulled the curtain open a little and looked down. “I’ve been out for a long time, Juan. I don’t touch that kind of work anymore.”
