Something in my chest that has been in one position for eleven days shifts. "Vienna reported in this morning." He crosses to my desk. Sets down a single printed page with the deliberate care of someone who has thought carefully about how to deliver something. "Prague went dark yesterday. Lisbon haven't responded to three separate messages." He pauses. His voice doesn't change — he's too good for that — but something behind his eyes does. "The degradation pattern is consistent across all five bloodlines. Starts eleven days ago. Simultaneously." Another pause. "To the hour."

The tether between us pulls taut, humming with a frequency that seems to calm the air. "I’m here," I say. I hold out my hand, palm up, showing him the knife I still clutch—not as a threat, but as proof that I had fought. That I had chosen to fight. "You came. That’s all that matters." He blinks. The gold dims, flickering like a candle flame in wind. Slowly, painfully, the claws retract. The shoulders settle. The beast recedes, leaving a man standing in its place—naked from the waist up, his skin laced with fresh cuts from the glass, his chest heaving.

“His jaw looks like his skull doesn’t have any skin on it. "I even heard, rumors though that her weapon is bigger than all Japanese alphas, like, she's ranked first there right? It has to be!" Karline screamed. "Don't forget that Japan is one of the few countries having Pures, although they're still teenagers for now, so it's kinda possible," Rina said.

Red was the same lady who had seen through Selina's intentions when the battle maiden ignored the shield that was aimed at her and focussed on her prey. She was famous among the ranks of Divine Servants for her wit and strong headedness.

"What problem?" "A rouge has shown up at our borders, and he demands to challenge you for your title of Alpha. You need to get back as soon as possible."

" You know what it is?" I just looked at his dazzling eyes, I don't know what it was for. " What's with red strings?" You and I will meet again in our next life" He beamed a smile and I just got teary eyed. After Articus kissed me, someone's force opened the door. We heard a crash downstairs and I started to tighten my hug to Articus. We tried to don't make any noise but we heard the footsteps it's going upstairs.

Looking back at his face, I noticed the slight split at the edge of his lip—the leftover damage from his brawl with Gary. A wave of genuine sympathy replaced my mischief. Gary dragged you into his mess, too. You ended up as a punching bag just because of our drama. "I’ve already applied some, if you were planning on offering. The look in your eyes gives you away," Russell muttered, breaking the silence and shattering my train of thought. I looked away quickly to hide my embarrassment. To cover my track, my fingers grazed his hand as I reached over and plucked the other earbud from his palm. Without asking, I popped it into my ear.

And Marie hopped on the bus. The ride went on for hours, but it still wasn’t long enough. On the final leg of the journey, she found herself glancing longingly at the countryside, at the other passengers, at anything that she could think about wistfully. She did not want to be where she was going to be. She didn’t want to see the original monster. Marie carried a tiny scrap of red hoodie that the police said she could have. It was cut out of the original and hemmed neatly around the edges. No fraying. No sawing of blood and bone and fabric and darling little girls.
