"Whoa… not the full name, signore."
Rome didn’t even blink. "We’ll talk later. Over the phone."
"Whatever," she huffed, brushing off the tension with a dramatic toss of her hair. Then, in a softer tone, she leaned down and pressed a kiss to my cheek. “Ciao.”
And just like that, she left us alone.
"Alora Eunice, hold on to me," Rome said firmly as he pulled me to my feet.
He guided my arm over his shoulder, and I instinctively let it slip around his neck. His other hand moved away, just long enough to shrug off his coat and wrap it around my waist.
