Tessa's POV: From the moment the door clicked shut, I knew things were going to spiral. For goodness' sake. Summer’s breath came out in hitches in the silence, too loud in the large room. Hollis replied with a chuckle, wrapping his arm around my waist as we watched our son drift back to sleep in my arms. “A bastard in love with his mother,” I replied, leaning into Hollis’s embrace. As Summer too moves into her sleep and opens her eyes, staring at all three of us. “What am I doing here?” she asked groggily, causing us all to laugh at the unexpected interruption. “Why don’t you want to sleep with us tonight, Summer?” Hollis teased, giving her a mischievous grin. “I never said that, but I was sleeping in my room until I woke up and found myself here,” Summer replied with a smile, snuggling closer to me.

They got to the parking lot and joy picked the call of her choice, she claimed she wanted a low profile date, so she picked an Audi R8 and George drove her to the restaurant of her choice. Even after three days away from her, she still found a way into my thoughts like she belonged there. And that was the real problem. I exhaled sharply and grabbed the whiskey bottle from the table, pouring another glass. Outside, Pasadena glittered beneath the night sky. Beautiful. You'd think she was the one turning 18 with how giddy she was. I went to my room, freshened up, and took my time getting dressed. I slipped into a soft white romper that clung comfortably to my frame, hugging me in all the right places without trying too hard. The hem reached just mid-thigh, and the halter neckline tied into a dainty little bow behind my neck. It didn't show off much cleavage, but it was backless, perfect to keep things breezy. The wavy pattern on the fabric reminded me of soft ocean ripples. Perfect for a summer beach party.
