ARIEL’S POV “Mom… swallow first—slowly,” I said, gently guiding it toward her. The spoon trembled in my hand—barely noticeable, but I felt it. I don’t shake. I tightened my grip, forcing myself to be still, but the feeling wouldn’t leave. It lingered beneath my skin, restless… like something watching me from the inside. My mother leaned back against the thin pillows, her fingers brushing mine as she took the spoon. Her eyes weren’t on the medicine.

" Cause the food is specially prepared for you Richard" " But that doesn't mean you can't eat from eat, does it?" " No it doesn't Richard, but I need you to eat and get satisfied, remember the kitchen is just a seconds away" He smiled and pushed further more but I insisted, then he grabbed his spoon and started eating, the food must really taste nice from the look on his face, I kept salivating, it was then I realised I had starved myself for two good days.

I pick up my spoon while almost wishing for the food to taste bad. There is no way that this is happening to me.

He rubs her back and she gestures to the problematic spoons, “I don’t see a difference, the size is the same, the position on the table is virtually indistinguishable from this other spoon. But using it for anything other than its intended purpose is ‘frowned upon most deeply’.” She sighs, giving up for now. George has again chosen her food for her, as she’s been drowning in the spoon section, struggling to see the spoons for the other mildly different spoons. George looks at the spoons in question, and frowns,

Pinky watched as her mother dish out food for her. She force out a smile when her mother placed the food on the dinner table. "Thank you mother"She said as she draw the chair back and sat on it. Pinky took a spoon and stared at food for some minutes before taking a bit into her mouth. "Mom is delicious"She smiled and countinue eating the food slowly. Mrs Diane glanced at her daughter the moment she add another food into her mouth. "Eat more pinky" Mrs Diane said while adding more food to her plate.

He sat down, but I didn’t react— I mean, I tried not to. Lifting one hand off my lap, I picked the spoon. My lashes fluttered, not looking at him opposite me. I took a scoop, bringing it to my lips. I took a sip. My eyes widened. My grip on the spoon went slack in shock. Bursts of flavors exploded on my taste buds to smithereens, leaving behind an earthy, nutty flavor in place. The spoon tilted, but I swiftly tightened it, managing to hold it before the soup spilled.

"What's everyone waiting for, none has touch the food?! Mom asked as no one has started eating even after taken their seats. Mr Dadson please let me help you, Mom said as she took one of the ceramic plates and served him with the tumeric rice and some of the grilled chicken and hot sauce, this made Mr McArthur feel jealous as he only wanted that treat to be given to him. Mom, can you please serve me too? Amanda asked. This made everyone sitting around the table to burst out into laughter except my step dad. There's no need mom serving you, you're virtually a full grown woman now,I whispered into my sister's left ear.

“Did you just threaten me with a spoon? As in an utensil? As in the thing you use to eat soup and any liquid food? That spoon?” “First of all, do I look stupid to you?” I groan and roll my eyes. “I know what a bloody spoon is, you don’t have to ask me a million questions just to ensure we’re talking about the same darn thing. And yes, I just threatened you with a spoon. One, spoons are like my favorite thing ever, after my family of course. Two, how the fuck do you think I killed that little demon friend of yours? With a spoon, duh. I’ve had some practice with them before, I know my way around bodies.” I explain and wiggle my eyebrows suggestively.

I shake my head. “Don’t worry, you’ll fit right in here,” Callan says. “Spoons are entirely optional.” With a smile, he drops his spoon and picks up his bowl, lifting it to his mouth to slurp from the edge. That’s what I did with Mama on the occasion we ate from bowls. I’m instantly relieved that they know the logical way to eat, and I’m so hungry I don’t want to pick up one tiny bite at a time with the spoon instrument. I pick up my bowl and let the food pour into my mouth. I chew, slurp and devour the meat and bones and broth.
