The Octagon left the battlefield without a word and dived deeper into the fallen city, hunting and seeking more prey to devour. Ves emerged from the vision with a bright light in his eyes. With the information he gathered so far, he envisioned an idea of how to shape his own variant. His first spin on the Octagon would be an overall enhancement of the base model. He wanted to retain the savage nature of the Octagon and preserve its hunting instincts. While the mech excelled in energy efficiency, its armor could not keep up. Therefore Ves needed to redesign the Octagon's armor scheme and somehow make a comprehensive improvement while not impacting the mech's speed and agility too much.

Hope runs over to me and places her hands over my neck as I begin to lose consciousness. 'Maximus! Don't you fall asleep! You need to stay with me!' she cries. Her hands glow, and her eyes glimmer with silver. The large wound on my neck slowly closes over. Hope wraps her arms around me, 'Maximus!' she says, and helps me to sit up. The warriors in the room are all dead, but new ones enter and bow down around us as their new Alpha and Luna. 'Unchain him!' Hope orders, pointing to her father.

The frost and ice that coated the flowers and grass melted, obeying their commands and coming together behind them. The water raised higher, melting as it collected and grew. It meshed together, forming a scaly head and two slitted eyes. Fangs dripping water hung from its mouth, and its tail coiled around the nearest fountain, fifteen feet away.

She knew that whoever was out there probably had it. Aries glanced at the door, and mentally he snapped at the one out there to leave what they had at the door and go. It was obeyed too, he just pushed it in their mind. They immediately responded to his command. He was Alpha Prime after all. None of them were going to be able to fight a real command he gave. “I’m not going anywhere.” Sybil figured she needed to appease him. For whatever reason he was infatuated with her at the moment.

Something heavy. A massive robot stepped out. It was twelve feet tall. It was painted black. It had Gatling guns for arms. "Meet the Reaper Prime," Garrett said. "Automated defense system. Enjoy." He ran toward a side exit. "Kill them," Garrett ordered the robot. The robot’s eyes glowed red. The guns spun up. Whirrrrrr. "Cover!" Kael screamed. We dove behind the missile cart just as the room erupted in a hail of bullets.
