The cool evening air hits my face as I step outside, but it does nothing to settle the chaos inside me.
I'm halfway to my car when my phone vibrates in my hand.
I glance down at the screen.
Brett.
Finally.
I swipe to answer, pressing the phone to my ear immediately. "What is it?"
"Evening, boss," Brett greets, his tone respectful. "I've got an update."
"Go on," I snap, my patience already wearing thin.
"Megan's staying at a hotel now. The Grandview, downtown. Top floor suite. She checked in a few days ago with the kids and her nanny. Security's tight, but I've been keeping an eye on her."
