“Let’s see if we can figure this out.” April leaned over the page. “Okay, this is an edited version of what we see here. Well, that’s interesting, though it shouldn’t be a surprise.” April pored over the papers, looking closely at the words and symbols.

Hey Readers Thanks for all the support so far. I am truly grateful to each and every one of you. I just realised I published Chapter 44 before Chapters 42 and 43. I literally gave myself I slap when I saw it. Like no joke. A nice hard slap on the forehead😂. I will get in contact with my editor to fix it asap. In the meantime, please read Chapter 42 and 43 first then go back to 44. I know its quite a bit of work and a bit of a late warning, I'm sorry😅. Please bare with me.

Leo throws the threat at my head until I duck. I count the pages. One. Two. Three. Five. My mouth goes dry. "Where is four?" Archivist looks down, suddenly only an old man realizing the shelf has lied to him. "It was here." Sarah's knife comes up. Gate turns toward the door. Sami whispers, "I did not touch." I believe him. I do not look at Leo yet. The missing page has already made a space in the room. And my brother is too quiet inside it.

She had not expected the next box. A single 4 sat in the faded ink. Elara read it first as part of a sequence, because the pages around it were full of numbered instructions. Phase 4 would have been useful. A formulation number would have belonged to the case and stayed there. She followed the narrow column upward. Age. The heading left no other reading. The digit described the child Arthur had entered into the first row. It described her.

The number was switched off too, the one that called me. Grunting, I threw my fist at the brown bed base and heard the wood crack sound but no visible opening. My breathing was heavy. I reloaded again and then I saw it. “Page 45.” Its title stood out boldly. My heart jumped to my throat as my shaking thumb clicked on it immediately and I saw it. “Venue X. 45 Toys.” The writings swayed in my head but nothing clicked fully, instead, the memory was faint. I should know Venue X because it had been part of his teaching back then but this was long ago.

After the doors closed again, I hit the button to the 4th floor then it transported me to the 4th floor, re-opening its doors. I rushed out of it, scuttled to the room with the label 'ROOM 4G' on it. I inserted the card into the correct hole and unlocked the door, took the card then pushed the door open. Groaning, I lowered my head to my fingers, massaging my forehead, as I shoved myself in. The moment I raised my head, I almost went blind as I caught the blazing hot sight in front of me.

Its hands had stopped. Frozen at exactly… 4:17. Tucked beneath it was a folded note. James opened it carefully. Only one sentence had been written inside. The Fourth Door opens at 4:17. Don’t be late. The three of them exchanged uneasy glances. For the first time… Franklin hadn’t asked them to choose. He had invited them somewhere. And somehow… That felt even more dangerous.

"You had a follow up question about the review milestone structure." He looked at the document. He picked up his pen. "Yes," he said. "Page four. The second milestone threshold." She turned to page four. The meeting continued.
