Novel & Cerita Paper Promise: The Substitute Bride

“Whoa! Isn't he crazy? How could he frame the bride on her first wedding night?! Oh Lord! Even her husband is crazier! How could he trust someone he just met more than his wife? Crazy, they're all crazy!” Sena remembered one of the soap opera scenes she had watched with her mother. The scene where someone deliberately hires a foreign man to enter the bridal chamber and traps the bride as if she is having an affair right on her first wedding night. Unfortunately, in that soap opera, the woman's husband takes her for granted and thinks his wife is having an affair and then divorces the poor woman. Since that day, everyone labeled the bride as an unfaithful woman, making her shunned by many peo

I was not sure I had heard him right. With an angry look in his eyes, he thundered, his fist slamming on the table. "You're getting married to the Prince." He repeated and I gasped. "I'm not supposed to get married to the Prince." I clapped back, with a confused look on my face. "What? You're mateless. You're the perfect fit." He replied and I gasped. "What about Kira? She was betrothed to the Prince. Why me?" I asked. I could not believe I would be a substitute for my sister.

Leonardo entered his friend's condo feeling frustrated and upset. His friend Domenico Russo greeted him with a warm smile, "Hey, Leonardo!" But Leonardo didn't respond. Domenico sensed something was wrong and asked, "What's wrong?" Leonardo huffed. "Father issue!" Domenico snorted. Leonardo scowled. Domenico inquired once more, "Tell me what happened this time." Leonardo, visibly frustrated, responded with clenched teeth, "He has replaced the bride and now expects me to wed that slut, Sofia Ricci, who is deemed worthless by the Riccis."

~Elena~ I clasped my thigh, dragging the duvet closer to my naked body. I never expected that agreeing to be a substitute bride would drag my life into another nightmare. My new husband was disfigured as well as disabled, but it didn't affect his aura and power. I had no idea what I did wrong to piss him off. Didn't he marry Julia for love? Or had he recognized that I was just a fake? I followed the butler down the hall, the cold floor masking my feet. We arrived at a different section of the house on the ground floor. We passed a corridor connected with doors and stopped in front of one. He pushed open the door and ushered me in first before following.

I do not understand him anymore. Now, I believe this man is crazy. Indeed, Cynthia has made him lose his senses. He's no more himself. "Read it." He ordered. "Read what? And what's this? What should I do with this paper you just throw at me?." I asked him. "Stop asking silly questions and do as I've asked you to. Go through the paper now." He ordered again. I shook my head at him and sighed before going through the paper. Before I could start reading anything. I saw a well bold written words on the front page. 'A MARRIAGE CONTRACT BETWEEN MR. AARON SAMUEL AND MS. SOPHIA CENSATIO. "What?!!! A MARRIAGE CONTRACT?!." I bursted.

“Come on, Sister Panda, Daddy’s waiting impatiently.” Little did Pandora know, Aceli would be playing the role of the flower girl. It was a sweet way to involve Kingston’s niece, making her look charming and adorable. Aceli, in a white mini dress—made of beautiful layers of tulle—bloomed like her rosy cheeks. In Aceli’s hands was a basket filled with rose petals. Her more important task was to go to the chapel—to take her place where she would escort Pandora as the bride. Then they walked down the aisle with Pandora still holding Chris’s arm by her side.

He opened his and it was a matching couple set of pyjamas. "Wow! It's so cute." I smiled. He gave me the smaller one and then, he took the bigger one. Caden smiled as he looked at the pyjamas. Caden and I looked at each other and laughed. Just then, my phone buzzed and I quickly got it. I opened my phone and when I saw it was a message from Lauren, my heart skipped. I opened the message slowly and the text read, "Don't be too drawn into the marriage. Do not fall in love with Caden Holtons. Remember that you are just a fake and substitute bride. He is mine!"

“You want to play the role of devoted little wife.” Her breathing turned shallow. “I… I just thought—” “You thought wrong.” I stopped barely a foot away from her. Close enough to see the rapid flutter of her pulse at the base of her neck. Close enough that if I wanted to, I could push her down onto that couch and find out exactly how innocent my substitute bride really was. My cock twitched at the thought. *Down, you bastard. She’d probably faint again.*

Hair and makeup arrived at nine, the team Diana had arranged, professional and quiet and efficient. I sat in the chair by the window and looked at the city while they worked and thought about nothing in particular and everything at once. Alexander appeared at ten with a message from Torres.
